Gaming the night away..

nick-with-ds.jpg

Yes every Tuesday of the year we get together (in Penzance currently) to talk, live, eat, breathe and play computer games.

We’re not spring chickens, which is why we are called the ‘Older Gaming Network’, so collectively we have a wealth of experience, opinions and gaming annecdotes to share.

We understand people may expect a bunch of spotty, pale, socially inept teenagers sitting around not talking to each other while tapping away on their respective game controllers - this is not what our get togethers are about.

The group started after Mat got chatting to his work colleagues about how, as you get older, it seems like it is harder and harder to find time play games - especially against each other, which in our opinion is the most fun sort of video game experience.

So after a few gatherings between friends that turned out to be a great success Mat put the word out further by creating the website. This soon got picked up by Radio Devon who interviewed Mat about the group, following this a newspaper article was published by The Cornishman complete with photos of the members of the group picking up their brand new Wii consoles on launch day.

Since then the group has met most weeks on Tuesday nights, attracting new members along the way. We are confident that there must be many others out there who would enjoy a gaming evening every now and again so please feel free to get in touch, you can sign up painlessly by entering your info into the mailing list subscription box on the right - we will keep you informed of the meetings.
